(Mod 3) BodyTalk: Principles of Consciousness
The most essential of the advanced courses in BodyTalk, this course deals with the foundation of the BodyTalk System. The course includes three primary areas of study:
• The 5 Senses and how all of our experiences are in some way imprinted on and affecting our senses and therefore how we experience the world and ourselves.
• Consciousness – what we have come to believe about the world and ourselves and how it influences our health and wellbeing
• Individuation: the process of peeling away masks we wear that have supported our faulty beliefs and past experiences. It is the process of un-becoming which results in just being oneself.
The consciousness work in Principles of Consciousness underlies the foundation of the philosophy behind the BodyTalk System and explains how to apply it in a practical way. It is said that consciousness is all there is. It is the core of everthing. This course delves into how our experiences, form our beliefs about life and therefore ourselves; how each one of our organs endocrines and bodyparts have their own tendencies toward specific states of consciousness/belief systems.
We explore General Consciousness which includes the philosophy and understanding of such concepts as Space/time; Guilt/Fear; Separation; Individuation, and how our habitual thinking patterns create masks that hide our True nature and how balancing the General Consciousness assists the unfolding personal and spiritual growth of the client and practitioner. Practical use of this knowledge enables the practitioner to balance the right/left brain complex and assist the client towards recognition of their natural state of inner peace and harmony.

He was also the Volunteer Representative for IBA Members from 2011-2013.
Ben has been practicing The BodyTalk System since 2001 and teaching BodyTalk workshops across the U.S. and internationally since 2005. He feels fortunate to have received all his initial basic and advanced BodyTalk trainings from BodyTalk’s developer, Dr John Veltheim. In September 2013, Ben relocated to Denver from Chicago and is currently actively involved in the study, research, and development of Advanced BodyTalk as a student of PaRama College. He has completed all of the basic advanced coursework as well as BodyTalk for Animals, Structural Integration, Basic & Advanced MindScape, FreeFall 1, 2 & 3; BreakThrough 1 & 2; PaRama Mindcrystals, PaRama Units 1 & 2 (PU 1 &2), PU 1 & 2 Practicals, Finding Health 1 & 2, the BioPhysical Mind, Energetics, Body Psychology, and BodyEcology.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Teaching English from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and teaching English as a Second Language in Kenya, East Africa as a volunteer in the United States Peace Corps, Ben taught Massage Therapy at the Chicago School of Massage Therapy for nearly 5 years. As a result he brings more than 20 years of teaching experience to his BodyTalk classes which incorporate a lively mix of lecture, discussion, hands-on practice and experiential learning.
What initially attracted him to The BodyTalk System was its systematic Consciousness-based approach to health care. BodyTalk is where ancient wisdom meets modern science. He quickly realized BodyTalk was first and foremost a system designed to help people tap into their life potential – to live their lives fully & feel comfortable just being themselves. BodyTalk helps people become more aware of and unravel the patterns which led to their dis-ease & begin living their lives more consciously. As a result their dis-eases fade away quickly, easily and naturally – oftentimes without the use of drugs, supplements, soft-tissue manipulation or invasive procedures of any kind. In short, BodyTalk helps people wake up to their lives & who they are at their core.
“BodyTalk explained the concept of Energy Medicine in a very tangible down-to-earth way which made ‘energy’ less mysterious and more real. I was able to integrate it immediately into my Massage Therapy practice, and within a few months 90% of my clients were requesting BodyTalk instead of Massage Therapy. They were very happy because BodyTalk was providing them with deep long-lasting results by addressing the underlying causes behind their aches and pains instead of only offering temporary relief.”
